Background
A Parish Plan is a document that summarises a community’s views on a range of topics. The extent of consultation that has gone into preparing the plan usually makes it uniquely authoritative.
More than 3000 Parish Plans have been created in England, and over a hundred of these are from Yorkshire communities.
Glusburn & Cross Hills is one of the largest parishes in North Yorkshire.

The Steering Group
The Parish Plan Steering Group (PPSG) comprises approximately 15 volunteers, all of whom live in either Glusburn or Cross Hills.
Three members of the PPSG are also Parish Councillors, and the Parish has provided some of the funding used to create the plan.
The PPSG is a wholly autonomous group responsible for ensuring that the Parish Plan is created and that the funds provided are spent appropriately on the task.
The PPSG meets approximately monthly, until the Parish Plan is complete, whereupon it will be disbanded. A subsequent Steering Group may then be set up to carry the Plan through into delivery.
